Why The Ideas Of Karl Marx Were So Radical To Society The Communist Manifesto, written in 1848, provided the views of Karl Marx on humans and nature. For the time in which the document was written, the ideas of Marx were very radical to society. The ongoing struggle between the Proletarians( the working class) and the Bourgeois( the owners) prompted Marx to develop a solution to this social problem. His solution to this historical problem was to create a capitalist nation, which in the end would result in a Communist nation. He wanted to help the social status of the working class, because he felt that they were being taken advantage of by the owners. The document also discusses the role of humans and their interaction with nature. Marx believed that society was beginning to break away from nature as a source of economical support. In the past, humans had relied heavily on agriculture to support themselves but with the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, new technology began to replace old farming techniques and created new factory jobs in cities. Marx had rather extreme views on the extent to which nature in his time had become humanized as a result of human labor. He commented that, Ã¢â¬Å" Even the objects of the simplest Ã¢â¬Å" sensuous certaintyÃ¢â¬ are only given him through social development, industry and commercial intercourse.Ã¢â¬  "Throughout their labor, humans shape their own material environment, thereby transforming the very nature of human existence in the process.Ã¢â¬  One had always seemed to know their role in society. It was Marx who believed that this was true due to a capitalistic economy. OneÃ¢â¬â¢s wants and needs were different from society to society. For instance, a person with a higher social status would not have the same needs as a peasant living on a farm would. Marx felt that human nature could not be changed in contrast to what many economists believed. In a capitalistic economy, men were the ones who received the wages while women earned little to nothing. To put an end to the ongoing struggle between social classes, Marx believed that a new form of government would have to be established, this he called Socialism. 4 He wanted to see the working class join together to fight the owners, for in order for a society to grow, people would need to begin working together. Marx recognized the struggles of the classes, especially those of the middle class.

I think that many people are familiar with the economic crisis that has plagued the front of newspapers and run rampantly across countless television news networks throughout the day. Billions of dollars are flying around to help businesses in hope of avoiding a catastrophic financial meltdown. A barrel of oil has dropped to the lowest price anyone has seen in months, and multibillion-dollar companies are crashing into the rocks. In all honesty I really donÃ¢â¬â¢t have any opinion on the financial crisis. Of course I know the economy is failing. I see the stock market plunging and then slowly coming up for breath and quickly plunging once more, but in my mind this really doesnÃ¢â¬â¢t affect me because I donÃ¢â¬â¢t know what I am looking at. It doesnÃ¢â¬â¢t interest me, and I almost forget that it exists at times because I donÃ¢â¬â¢t have anything invested and I didnÃ¢â¬â¢t lose anything but 20 minutes in a day sitting on the couch watching some numbers drop. This is by far not the healthiest way to perceive something as serious as this. I really only care about financial aid as of now, which is quickly dwindling by the way, in the hope that when I finally leave this place and move on with whatever I plan to do to make a little money in my life, I will not have to pay anything for a college education. Second on my list is surviving until that point, and I plan to take it from there Ã¢â¬â what I have always done through financial turbulence and what many others should begin to think about. So when I read an article in the New York Times yesterday titled, Ã¢â¬Å"The Frugal Teenager, Ready or NotÃ¢â¬ written by Jan Hoffman, I was quite intrigued. It seems that most teenagers are being spoiled to an extravagant degree. Parents have had success in their lives after the late 1980s, ultimately giving them the ability to care for their children and essentially give their kids whatever they ask for, generally. I can admit I was spoiled as a child and when I was a teenager as well. My parents have done everything to their ability, and so have many other parents. What interests me more than anything is that many of the teenagers in this article took spending less on designer clothes or whatever else teenagers want as an insult. Many of these kids have never been told no and they really donÃ¢â¬â¢t like the sound of it. This is fairly sad. I know that parents want the best for their children and feel the need to do whatever they possibly can for them. This is perfectly understandable, but I believe that it has gone way too far, and the fact that it takes an economic meltdown that debilitates the United States and erases millions of peopleÃ¢â¬â¢s savings, investments, bank accounts and jobs to actually say no to privileged children is quite ridiculous. What does this really mean, though? Nothing. I guess that 20 years of good fortune has led parents to think that their financial situation would stay pretty much consistent, and the cash crunch got the better of them. My parents experienced this almost 15 years ago when my mom lost her job. When a familyÃ¢â¬â¢s budget goes from over $100,000 a year to less than $30,000, it is quite unimaginable. Your standard of living is completely pulled out from underneath of you and the only way to continue is to move on. I had to be said no to Ã¢â¬â quite often actually Ã¢â¬â and it has done me well, and the teenagers today do not seem to know what money is. The only way to reverse this is to simply tell them there are going to be cutbacks and you will have to sacrifice just as much as we do. I was surprised by some of the teenagerÃ¢â¬â¢s reactions, though. They seem as though they actually care about helping their parents in this difficult situation, which is quite relieving, by agreeing to a lower spending limit, shopping at lower brand stores and helping out with household chores to earn their allowance. This is how it should be. The value of a child growing up with responsibility is the greatest gift a parent could possibly give to his or her child, and instead of a teenager entering a completely new world after graduating high school and moving on to college or right into the workforce, they will actually realize that the world just isnÃ¢â¬â¢t something in Google Earth. The responsibility that my friends and I have learned while we were teenagers is priceless, and I wouldnÃ¢â¬â¢t trade making food for a bunch of tourists 40 or 50 hours a week when I was barely able to work for anything.

Question: Describe about the Resource Management Issues for Customers Relations. Answer: (1)Description of Crew Resource Management Issues. CRM issues mainly include the internal environment of the plane and reaction of crew members to the fatal situations ahead. In Air France flight accident, lack of co-ordination among both the pilots was the main root that gave rise to other factors of threat. Crew also failed to analyze the distance required for landing despite of bad weather warning. Margin of the error was ignored by crew. Standard callouts were not followed by pilots that resulted in delay while selecting thrust reversers. (Thrust reversers- A simple and effective way to reduce the landing distance of an aircraft is to reverse the direction of the exhaust gas stream). Another faulty decision by crew was that position 1 thrust leaver was left advanced for more than 3 seconds due to which auto-brake system was deactivated and braking effect could not be applied to control the speed. (2) Role of Crew Resource Management in accident or avoidance. In this fatal accident, crew resource management cannot be directly blamed but since all management and control of the flight was in their hands, indirectly their role was crucial and responsibility to be held. The action of flying in heavy shower conditions was inappropriate and should have been given second thought. The landing of plane was too far down the runway and as per experts, wet pavements resulted in increasing the speed so the decision making was cause of disruptions. Evacuation shafts failed to deploy from two exits and preliminary reported suggested that crew resources did not got involved in the assistance. The biggest factor that play all decision in favor of crew resource management was that crew members evacuated the plane in 75 seconds and no loss to life was involved. It was appreciable. (3) Critical Analysis of CRM issues in the accident. Following analysis puts light on the CRM issues in the accident: Lack of co-ordination issues persisted because communication between both the pilots was not in accordance with the protocol during threat situations .Criticality was time appropriateness. Pilots were trained and experienced with landing calculation knowledge and application of thrust reversers but deployment was delayed and further threat was invited. Criticality was using right technique to avoid further problem. Crew ignored the technicality of using thrust lever and left it idle for further dangerous fault. Criticality was that leaving idle of thrust leaver caused auto-brake failure. It made plane uncontrollable. (4) Describe the CRM skills displayed by the pilots that averted tragedy Plane was evacuated in record 75 seconds and that actually displayed best time management skills during emergency situations. Weather reports provided to the crew were wrong yet they were successful in landing though not so safe but very appropriate that every life was saved. Emergency response was way ahead of time because of timely conveyed warning messages by crew resource management. (5) Describe the lack of CRM skills not used by the crew that led to the accident. The crew should have been aware of the margin error and should have paid attention to METARs warning for thunderstorms. Ignoring the standard callout by pilots became the prime reason of the accident. Few pictures clicked by a passenger showed that crew was not active at the time problem started and later when photos were released for investigations, questions were raised on responsibility of the crew.

Satire Of Gulliver's Travels In Gulliver's Travels, Jonathan Swift makes a satirical attack on humanity. In the final book, Swift takes a stab at humanity by simultaneously criticizing physiological, mental, and spiritual aspects of humans. Literary critics Ronald Knowles and Irvin Ehrenpreis both agree that the last book focused entirely on satirizing humanity. The Yahoo brutes that inhabit Houyhnhnm Land are a despicable species that have the physical appearance of humans. Though their behavior seems to be decadent and irrational, Swift shows that most of their behavior have parallels in the life of civilized humans. The Houyhnhnms seem to embody virtue and all the perfections that humans seek, but there are inconsistencies in their behavior that are reflective human faults. The Houyhnhnms do not look human in appearance, so Swift uses them to reveal hypocrisies of human thought. Throughout the book, Swift makes attacks on the religious perception of man; He also expresses disagreement with deist ideology. Ehr enpreis and Knowles have very similar opinions concerning Book IV of Gulliver's Travels, but Knowles expresses a more concrete interpretation of the satire. According to Ehrenpreis, Swift lived in John Locke's time, and takes many ideas of humanity from him. Locke said that humans tend to classify species as man by their physical appearance. If there was a man without reason, he would be a dull irrational man, and if there was an animal could express reason, they would be an intelligent and rational animal. To Ehrenpreis, the Yahoos embody an ironical reflection upon the fact that the bulk of unthinking men do in practice treat external shape as a sounder guide to humanity than reasonable conduct. Besides being more primitive than humans, Yahoos behave and function like civilized humans. Knowles points out that Yahoos fight with other groups and each other without apparent reason. Their avarice for certain shiny stones of no practical use lead to more fighting and theft. In more contemporary or civilized societies, those shiny stones can be paralleled to material possessions such as jewelry. Knowles observes that like humans, Yahoos suck the juice from a particular root that produces the same affect as alcohol. Similar to many humans, the Yahoos consumed the juices without temperance. Ehrenpreis thinks that Swift uses the Yahoos to as an example of Locke's suggestion that humans are more easily identified by vice than virtue. The Houyhnhnms seem to be reasonable, rational characters. They also seem to embody good virtues that humans strive to achieve. Ehrenpreis and Knowles both find inconsistencies in the depiction of Houyhnhnms. Ehrenpreis believes that the paradoxes in the writing are supposed to reflect paradoxes of human thought. When Gulliver first meets the inhabitants of Houyhnhnm Land, they are curious about the covering on his body. The Houyhnhnms are surprised when they first see him take off his hat; It is a reasonable and natural reaction since the Houyhnhnms do not wear clothing. Ehrenpreis argues that repeated occurrences show that Houyhnhnm thought revolves around being a horse. He thinks that is reflective of the anthropocentricity of humans. An example of the anthropocentricity of humans is the attempt to communicate with babies. A newborn does not know any human languages, but adults often assume that the baby is trying to talk to them when they make meaningless noises. Knowles thinks t hat the Houyhnhnms are not ideal characters, but reflections of humans.
